Being a fresh graduate is not easy because you are entering the real battle ground, finding a job. A lot of new graduate aims to land their dream job, being promoted, buying everything that their heart desires and of course supporting their parents financially.
Have you tried to apply almost a hundred times and still unemployed? You have done everything what your family member, friends and even google advises, and yet haven’t heard any reply or call from the employers? And now your in the situation where you’re asking yourself “What else I haven’t done?”. In this article I would discuss How can a fresh graduate find a job during a pandemic.

  1. Check the grammar and other errors

Always recheck your grammar in writing a resume because some recruiters have found it as a big no when there is misspelled as well as some errors. According to a study a presence of spelling errors has the same negative impact on the chances of being shortlisted as a lack of professional experience, and recruiters’ spelling skills also moderate their judgment. If you are not confident enough with your grammar skills you could seek help to some professionals near you or even a friend. You may also use an online grammar checker like grammarly.com, gingersoft.com, smallseotools.com and more that are very convenient and easy to used online.

2. Do not use over creative templates

Having an attractive resume is nice but over design is not good to all. The basic templates may look so boring if you’re a creative person but the basic resume are a readable, clean, and very direct to the point because the main goal here is to highlight what can you offer to the company and to the position you are applying to. According to resumelab.com the design of resume was more important for recruiters aged 40+(16%), than those under 40 years of age which is (8%). In addition, black and white resume was referred 73% and 27% for resumes that have fine color. Choosing a resume template for your dream job should help you not to be a burden, so choose wisely and take that dream.

3. Consider an ATS friendly resume

Many of the job seekers are not aware that applying to a job are not just about sending resumes, and then “You’re hired! “ Life would be very easy if that’s the only process. We need to realized that as the Technology advances the recruitment process is also upgrading. Many companies are now using ATS in screening applicants. When the applicants applied for a job online, their personal information, experience, resume, and cover letter are uploaded into the database this information was transferred from one component of the system to another as candidates move through the hiring process. The Job seekers needed to know that 40% of employers use an applicant tracking system (ATS) to screen candidates for their job openings. There a lot of (ATS) friendly resume samples and templates online like resumegenius.com, hloom.com, novoresumes.com and many more to give you some idea on how to write ATS friendly resume.

4. Be optimistic

Trying to be optimistic despite the rejections that you have experience in applying a job is overwhelming and depressing. According to American Psychological Association (APA) Social rejection can influence the emotion, the cognition and even physical health. That is when you really focus on the results of everything that you’re doing. Ask yourself, What can I be benefiting from this if I take it seriously? You need to know that rejections don’t mean your a loser or you don’t belong anywhere, its just simply maybe you’re not the best fit for the position. Try to focus your attention to other things that make you happy and productive because in the end if your someone with a strong sense of motivation no matter what you will get that job you have ever dreamed.

5. Pray for it

Whatever Religion we have all believed that there’s God that oversees everything. Worrying too much won’t make our situation easier instead it makes us feel down. Let those things pass and just pray that God will also strengthen your path and lead you to your dream job.

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop” -Confucius
